I was bored.
I was bored of going to the gym by myself.
Bored of doing circuit classes.
I wanted more
I wanted to challenge myself more.

Then I heard MVMT was opening and bringing Crossfit to our town.
I’d heard of Crossfit but didn’t ‘actually’ know what ‘exactly it was….but I knew I wanted to try it.
I was pretty nervous about starting, but I still wasn’t going to let that stop me from giving it a go.

Oh boy, was different than anything I’d ever done. It was definitely challenging me, I was being coached and taught all these different movements many of them new to me. I was using barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells, bodyweight, some gymnastics.
I wanted to be challenged – I certainly got that !!
Over the weeks and months following the programming and workouts everyday, I made massive progress. I could find my fitness levels improve, My strength was going up . I’m now able to do things I couldn’t possibly have done when I started.

The biggest personal achievement I have made, is getting a Strict Pull Up

I’m currently juggling Crossfit with my GAA training, I feel it has made me a better player.

I’m working on Squat Snatch (worst movement ever !!) and would like to get better at the gymnastic movements.
That’s the thing – you just always want to get better. There’s always something you can be working on.

Olivia June 2021 Vs Olivia June 2022 – I never would have thought I would be saying, I’m in the best shape of my life at 30 !
Showing up to class consistently has really paid off for me.
It’s been a great mental escape for me after a long day at work. If I’m tired going to class, I’m always buzzing after it !
